POSE (Portsmouth Open Studios Event)
Return to what's on

City Arts Portsmouth CIC is delighted to invite you to POSE 2025 – Portsmouth Open Studios Event – running 24–26 October, 10.30am–5pm.
For one weekend only, Portsmouth transforms into a citywide urban arts trail. More than 45 venues across the city — from artist studios and homes to pop-up spaces, community hubs, and galleries — will open their doors. Visitors are welcomed inside to experience creativity where it happens: to see processes up close, take part in workshops, watch demonstrations, and talk directly to artists about their practice.
POSE brings together artists from every background and discipline: painters, ceramicists, printmakers, sculptors, photographers, textile artists, illustrators, animators, installation artists, musicians, performers, and more. The result is a unique snapshot of the creative energy of Portsmouth today.
But POSE is more than an event — it has impact. It strengthens the visibility of artists and makers, giving them opportunities to connect with new audiences, generate sales, gain commissions, and form lasting collaborations. For many artists, POSE is the moment they move from working quietly in isolation to being fully part of the city’s cultural landscape. For visitors, it’s a chance to step into the creative life of Portsmouth, discovering hidden studios, exploring unexpected venues, and supporting artists by buying something original to take home.
Since its launch, POSE has helped create stronger links between artists, businesses, and communities. It has shown how creativity can thrive in urban spaces and how cultural events can reshape how people see their city. The event celebrates Portsmouth’s identity as a place where ideas, experimentation, and talent are visible, accessible, and shared.
So whether you want to try something new, learn about different artforms, meet the makers, or simply immerse yourself in a weekend of creativity, save the date: 24–26 October 2025. POSE is Portsmouth at its most creative — and everyone is invited
