We obtained Harbour Launch (Diesel) 49, known as D49, on 12th April 1996 from her previous owners – MoD (N) RMAS Portsmouth. Her principal use with the MoD was for passenger transport and small craft towage within the harbour and basins.
Known as Port Auxiliary Service, or PAS boats, they were maids of all work, running continuously throughout major naval bases.
D49 was the last to be struck off the Naval list and will soon be having a deep refit to return to serviceable condition.
